Jeff Williams, CEOIn an interview with ManageHR, Jeff Williams, CEO of JMJ, tells us how the company transforms its clients’ organizational culture, emphasizing safety, sustainability, and performance to improve business operations.
How do you go about improving an organization’s work culture?
Our main priority is helping organizations transform their culture. We do this through a proprietary set of technologies and methodologies that we have perfected over three decades. With our clients, we’ve learned, adapted, and adjusted our approach to help build a mindset that aids them in overcoming safety and performance obstacles, creating results that cause a shift from accepted norms and behaviors. With our experienced consultants and proprietary technology, we believe we provide a world-class approach to creating breakthroughs in safety, sustainability, and performance, making the impossible possible.
Could you tell our readers about your technology and methodology?
JMJ is most known for its proprietary Incident and Injury- Free™(IIF™) methodologies and techniques. IIF has enabled some of the world’s largest companies, operating in complex and challenging environments, to reach safety and business performance levels previously thought impossible.
Our consultants work with clients to build transformational leadership skills and capabilities that help shape an incident and injury-free culture. While many people think about leadership development as something you provide for executives, we believe leadership development is applicable down through the business and into the field.
Can you elaborate on how JMJ provides a safe, sustainable work culture in its clients’ establishments?
We work with multiple clients and their suppliers all over the world. Our solution-driven approach is accessible to businesses of all sizes across different industries to create cultural and organizational transformations and enable a safer, more productive workplace.
The JMJ Transformation Cloud, our digital technology platform, integrates analysis, learning, and coaching tools into a single platform that helps our consultants create intelligent data and analysis on clients’ safety and cultural issues. We then tailor specific development pathways and accredited certification programs around safety, sustainability, and performance.
We sit down with clients and go through a design and discovery process to map what’s going on within the organization and its cultural, process, behavioral, and systemic issues in a structured way.
We have 30 years of experience delivering highly impactful cultural change programs designed to improve safety, sustainability, and performance. Many of our consultants have been working with us for two decades. This depth of experience is unmatched in the industry
One hallmark of JMJ is that when we work with a business, we tend to partner with them for a very long time. Many clients have been with us for over 20 years. We don’t just come in, do a project and leave; we work with clients for years to improve performance, sustainability and transform the culture over time.
If you were to list out a set of factors that differentiate you from your peers in the marketplace, what would they be?
First, we have 30 years of experience delivering highly impactful cultural change programs designed to improve safety, sustainability, and performance. Many of our consultants have been working with us for two decades. This depth of experience is unmatched in the industry.
Then there’s the unique methodology and technology that takes our clients through a culture change program. Moreover, we’re adapting to things like digital learning, data analytics, and sophisticated surveys and measurements to build a more technology-forward culture change program. We believe this combination of deeply experienced consultants, technology, data, and analytics is the key to driving and delivering value for organizations around the world.
What is the future roadmap of JMJ for the next 2-3 years?
We believe safety and sustainability go hand in hand, so next year our priority is to integrate Environment, Societal, and Governance (ESG) goals and sustainability commitments into our work. We’re collaborating with Cambridge University to develop metrics, techniques, and learning programs to help clients understand the requirements to support their sustainability both as an enterprise and as individuals.
We plan to expand our technology program to include broader facets of safety, sustainability, and business improvements by incorporating more comprehensive data analytics, measurement practices, and modern learning techniques.
For us it’s about creating impact and value for our clients and the hundreds of thousands of people who work with them.
